[May 19, 2025] KD Navien announced the launch of the “Navien Mat Four Seasons,” a product designed to provide comfortable sleep temperatures year-round. This marks an evolution from the company’s earlier “Navien Mat” and “Carboncore Navien Mat,” which provided winter comfort, by adding cooling technology that makes the system suitable for summer and transitional seasons.

The new “Navien Mat Four Seasons” offers both cooling and warming comfort through “COOL/COOL+ modes” and a “WARM mode,” with two product types available—“Air” and “Pro.” When the “Air” model’s “COOL Mode” is activated, a fan inside its “Sleep Hub” unit draws in cooled indoor air—such as from an air conditioner—chills the water, and circulates it through the mat. This mechanism allows the “Air” model to work even more effectively when paired with an air conditioner.

By contrast, the “Pro” model’s “COOL+ Mode” independently lowers the temperature of the water as it passes through the “Sleep Hub.” It does so using a semiconductor thermoelectric cooling method known as the “Peltier system,” cooling the water directly and circulating it back through the mat. This enables faster cooling of the mat without environmental limitations. Both the “Air” and “Pro” models also feature a “WARM Mode,” operating on the same principle as Navien’s previous “Navien Mat.” In this mode, a built-in heater inside the “Sleep Hub” warms the water, which is then circulated through the mat to deliver soothing warmth.

During summer, when paired with an air conditioner, the “Navien Mat Four Seasons” can reduce cooling energy use while still creating a comfortable sleep environment. In fact, joint testing conducted by KD Navien and Dankook University showed that when the “Navien Mat Four Seasons” and an air conditioner were both set at 27°C, sleep quality improved by 15% compared to using an air conditioner alone at 25°C. The study also found that energy consumption was reduced by 21%. Similarly, in winter, using the mat alongside a boiler reduces heating energy use while enhancing overall sleep satisfaction. Compared with using a boiler alone, sleep efficiency increased by 7%.

The “Navien Mat Four Seasons” also features an “AI Sleep Mode,” accessible via the “Navien Smart” app, which automatically manages mat temperature. By monitoring breathing patterns detected through a smartphone, the system analyzes sleep stages and adjusts mat temperature accordingly to create the optimal sleep environment. In “COOL/COOL+ modes,” when the body enters the “deep sleep stage” and core temperature naturally drops, the mat gently raises the temperature to maintain proper sleep balance. In WARM mode, as the body enters the “REM sleep stage” and its ability to regulate temperature decreases, the mat lowers its warmth to prevent overheating.

The mat also comes with a dual-sided cover for convenient year-round use. A cooling fabric side enhances comfort during summer, while the allergy-care fabric side used in winter and transitional seasons helps block dust and mites. Despite containing circulating water, the mat maintains an ultra-slim 1 mm thickness for comfort, with evenly distributed channels that ensure uniform temperature delivery across the entire surface.

The Navien Mat Four Seasons also stands out for its expanded lineup of convenience-driven features. In summer, activating the “Bedding Dry Mode” circulates 45°C water through the mat to eliminate moisture and keep bedding fresh and dry. The “Pro” model also features a “Condensation Prevention Mode,” ensuring that even when warm summer air meets the cooled mat, no water droplets form on the surface. With the “Auto Drain Function,” users can remove water from the mat at the touch of a button using a dedicated kit, while the “Auto UV Sterilization” feature eliminates 99.9% of microbes and bacteria in the water. Additional safeguards include high/low temperature alerts, an automatic shut-off timer, an overheating prevention system, and fire protection features.

The “Navien Mat Four Seasons Air” becomes available May 19 and can be purchased through “Navien House,” the company’s official online platform, as well as other online channels. The “Navien Mat Four Seasons Pro” will launch in July, with pre-orders available from May 19 to June 30 via Navien House, followed by sequential deliveries starting in July.
