Korean Condensing Boiler Boom in North American Markets Continues

KD Navien recently participated in the ‘2017 AHR EXPO(Air-Conditioning Heating Refrigerating Exposition)’ held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA).

The '2017 AHR EXPO,' now in its 87th year, was hosted by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) for 3 days from January 30th to February 1st. The expo is the largest expo of its kind in North America, and showcases the latest technologies and trends in the field of air-conditioning, heating and refrigerating. More than 2,000 companies and upwards of 60,000 people take part each year. As the No. 1 condensing boiler and water heater company in the North American market, KD Navien has been a fixture at the event for 10 consecutive years.

The centerpiece to KD Navien's exhibit was the "Navien Home IoT" system that combines IoT (Internet of Things) technology with condensing boilers, bringing together not only control of building heating and air-conditioning systems but also integrated lighting and gas controls to improve energy savings while also including intrusion detection, home view, and security features. This groundbreaking solution for building energy management was a key attraction at the show. 'Navien Home IoT,' which is built around KD Navien's unique home IoT hub, hit the mark in terms of convenience and energy management. The system, which can be linked up with the entire KD Navien boiler lineup through home networks and home automation systems, is expected to become the best optimized solution in the growing smart home market.

KD Navien's exhibit also featured its leading condensing technologies. Its premium tankless condensing gas water heater NPE and the condensing boiler NHB, already massively popular in the U.S. market, were on display, alongside its cascade system, which allows for improved energy use efficiency in the commercial market. The cascade system, which replaces mid-to-large boiler systems by connecting condensing boilers and water heaters in a parallel array, is an eco-friendly, highly efficient space heating and hot water system that enables an energy savings of 20 to 40% depending on the site. The system has already been installed in schools and commercial facilities in the United States, including Princeton University and the Marriott Hotel chain, where it has proven its efficiency. Last year, some 512 units were installed at the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry Division's Camp Casey.

President of KD Navien Jun Gi Hong commented "Through our prowess in condensing technology, KD Navien has become recognized by consumers as the leading brand in space heating, one of the most important elements of the living environment." He added, "We will continue our efforts in converging our existing expertise with new technologies such as IoT to become a living environment energy solutions company that goes beyond space heating to contribute to a range of aspects of consumer life."
